Description
Are you an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who excels in critical care, advanced monitoring, and high-acuity medicine? Do you thrive in an ICU environment where every decision matters and collaboration with ER doctors and board-certified specialists is part of daily practice?Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville—part of the Innovetive Petcare network—is seeking a highly skilled, detail-driven LVT to join our Daytime Critical Care (ICU) team. This role is ideal for technicians who want to work at the top of their license, manage complex medical cases, and contribute to life-saving care in a supportive, specialty-focused hospital.

Key Responsibilities – ICU & Critical Care Medicine
Qualifications & Experience
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Tennessee or eligible for licensure
- 3+ years of experience in Emergency, ICU, or Specialty medicine
- Strong proficiency in:
- Critical patient monitoring and nursing care
- Emergency procedures and advanced life support
- Anesthesia and ventilator management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- VTS (Emergency & Critical Care) or actively pursuing
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and advanced ICU protocols
- Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience in clinical settings
- Advanced understanding of pathophysiology, shock, sepsis, and trauma
- Expertise with anesthesia protocols, ventilators, and monitoring equipment
- Strong critical-thinking skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage high-acuity cases with confidence and compassion
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Emotional resilience in high-stakes and time-sensitive environments
